I’ve been trying to find a smooth way to cast my Mac screen to my TV without using an HDMI cable. AirPlay sometimes stutters or loses sync, especially with games or fast scenes in movies. I’d really like something that works reliably and doesn’t require extra setup every time. Has anyone found a stable solution for this? Would love to know what apps you’ve tried and how well they actually perform
Third-party apps like JustStream (for Mac→TV mirroring) seem solid for movies/videos: good quality, relatively low fuss.
Also tried AirDroid Cast for Mac-to-TV, which has decent flexibility (especially if you don’t have AirPlay-native TV).
I had the same issue for a while, especially with lag during video playback. The best experience I’ve had so far is using Watch iPhone content on TV — it works seamlessly with Mac too. The connection stays smooth even on older TVs, and the picture quality doesn’t drop. I use it mostly for streaming Netflix and YouTube, and it’s been surprisingly consistent with both sound and video.
